Follow the links below to access further detail about the methodology and categories used in the Australian Adaptation Database. This data has been collected in consultation with key stakeholders across Australia and leading adaptation experts.
The database uses publicly available information and only contains those activities which have been made public through other means.
The database is focussed on understanding how humans are adapting to climate change, but does include examples where human interventions or governance is being used to support the resilience of the natural environment.
This database does not evaluate or verify the quality of outcomes of adaptation and cannot distinguish between successful and unsuccessful practices. Please contact the responsible organisation for further information on adaptation outcomes.
This data is currently stored securely at the University of Melbourne. Data collection will continue until December 2025 (with possibility for it to be extended).
