Enabling best practice adaptation

The National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Project on Enabling best practice adaptation seeks to answer important questions about the uptake of adaptation in Australia. Commencing at the beginning of 2023, the project is a three-year investment to develop guiding principles and frameworks to help governments, civil society and communities undertake best practices in adaptation.

This database is one output of the project (others can be found below). The database is Australia’s first adaptation stocktake and seeks to understand the extent of adaptation activities in Australia.

Other outputs include a literature review on the enablers of climate change adaptation, and another on adaptation ‘best practice’. There are also several case studies of adaptation at different scales across Australia, which seek to explain the factors that enable best practice adaptation.

Key outputs from the project are provided below, and more information is available on the Climate Systems Hub Website.
