Katherine Flood Mitigation Project

Katherine Region Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee , Northern Territory Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics

The project is based off flood modelling that suggests that constructing levee banks and upgrading drainage systems will significantly reduce the impact of smaller flood events, enhancing protection for properties in Katherine. So, this project will add embankment and wall levees, recommended by the Katherine Region Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee to increase flood resilience in Katherine and improve protection for residential areas against floods with a frequency of up to 1-in-20 years.
