Green Adelaide

South Australian Government

Green Adelaide are working towards a cooler, greener, wilder and more climate-resilient metropolitan South Australia. They doing this by leading on ground activities and partnering with a wide range of organisations including Adelaide’s 17 metropolitan councils local government and traditional owners (Kaurna Miyurna people). It is South Australia's first government urban environmental organisation. They coordinate regional activities, provide funding and help educate the community on the importance of urban greening and biodiversity. They were established as part of the 2019 South Australian natural resources management reform, and the introduction of the Landscape South Australia Act 2019.

Funding Details
Landscape and water levies are our primary sources of funding. The landscape levy is collected from ratepayers by metropolitan councils, and the water levy is collected from water licence holders in metropolitan Adelaide.
